Design your lifestyle based on abundance

A program designed personally by Bill Mollison, the co-founder of permaculture, the Permaculture Design Course (PDC)
gives you both the vision and the practical tools you will need to realize your own piece of paradise, completely independent in terms of food and energy production. Based on the best project planning practices, the PDC teaches you how to imitate natural systems, produce abundant food and energy, design and build energy-efficient homes, collect
and use rainwater, create fertile soils, improve animal welfare and maximize their production and develop economic and legal systems that will create a society based on a new farming culture with a strong sense of solidarity.

Make your vision clear
More than a course, the PDC is a profound experience, during which you will develop a clear vision of abundance and resilience, of viable local economies, of healthy ecosystems and thriving communities, where people work together to provide food, energy, shelter and water, and meet the needs of all, in a socially just and regenerative way.
You will be helped through the learning process thanks to the experience of Rhamis Kent and Giuseppe Tallarico, who will encourage a continuous exchange of ideas, including evening screenings of thought-provoking films and documentaries.

Design your permaculture reality
During your time on the PDC, you will have the opportunity to design and plan for your own multifunctional business enterprise, through individual and group exercises, and under the close monitoring of the technical experts on hand.
Bring your property’s documentation with you; computer files, maps, photographs and climate data, all that you will use to define and plan your project.

Regenerate your property
Doing the PDC is an important opportunity to acquire the skills that you will need to regenerate your property and make it totally self-sufficient. Once you have a clear vision and a functional design on paper, you will be ready to take action.
The creation of your “food paradise” can begin immediately: following a process of soil regeneration by those working it. Furthermore, you can join the international network of the World Permaculture Association.

I challenge you to make your life a masterpiece!
Join the ranks of people who live what they teach!

The teaching staff that will join you in creating your food paradise

Rhamis Kent
Mechanical engineer, consultant and teacher accredited by the Permaculture Research Institute (PRI) of Australia; he also co-directs the World Permaculture Association and (PRI) of Australia. He studied Permaculture with the renowned educator Geoff Lawton at the PRI. He has taught courses in Permaculture Design in Palestine, Greece, Ethiopia, Yemen, Turkey, Thailand, Italy and the States (California and Vermont).

Giuseppe Tallarico
Agronomist, agro-ecological and biodynamic farmer, accredited Permaculture teacher, co-creator of Permamindfulness® and General Manager of the World Permaculture Association.

– Permaculture
You will get to understand the deep motivations that saw the birth of Permaculture, its ethics and design principles.
– Elements in the design
You will learn the main laws that rule natural cycles and how to imitate them in order to design harmonious food ecosystems: resources, crops, cycles and interconnections between the elements in production. The focus of the day will be planning for zones and sectors.
– Geometric Models
You will come to understand the patterns found in nature and the endless geometric forms that you can imitate to maximize energy use.
– Climatic factors
You will learn how to use the most advanced tools for understanding the climates of different continents and the interactions existing between climate-agriculture-society, for the development of a new agricultural model, able to withstand climate change.
– Trees and their energy exchanges
You will learn the ecological value of woodlands and forests in relation to climate factors, as well as the possibilities arising from the imitation of such environments. You will also learn the different functions trees play within a complex system.
– Water
You will learn the most efficient way to store water and use it for irrigation, for fire protection, for livestock and for satisfying every human need.
– Soil: source of health for the planet and all its inhabitants
You will get to know the most important resource in existence, soil. Understand its function, the processes involved in its formation, possible uses for it, all of which will give you the opportunity to increase the quality and quantity of microorganisms that move between earth and plants and then to animals and humans, improving their health.
– Earthworks
You will learn to shape the land according to your property’s needs. You will understand the principles and the equipment necessary for the construction of dams, lakes, embankments, terraces, roads, canals and drainage systems.
– Wet tropical, cold and dry climates
You will learn the differing characteristics of the tropical, cold and dry climates and the design strategies adapted for each context, to ensure an abundant production of food and energy.
– Aquaculture
You will learn the ancient systems of food and energy production using aquaculture and aquaponics.- Strategies for an alternative global nation
You will learn of the legal and economic tools to adopt to create a new agricultural culture with a strong sense of solidarity, on both a local and global scale, and you will use such knowledge to complete the design of your own property.

This work will then be presented to the entire class, before receiving your PDC certificate – recognized by the Permaculture Research Institute Australia.
